The Sacred Healer with Natalia Osullivan

Monday 16 January 2012 - 7.00 PM to 8.30 PM

The Western world is largely future orientated and focused on achievement. Very rarely in daily life do we look to the past and where we have come from and what we have accomplished? This has everything to do with our concept of time. In the eyes of our contemporary society the past is a ‘long straight road leading backward from the here and now, to a distant point on the horizon.

In traditional societies they conceive the passage of time as circular rather than linear. They have an ongoing relationship with the past, and are more inclined to honour and understand the contribution that our ancestors and how we as individuals continue to make in the world and honour and celebrate the earth.

In the fast pace of today’s world there is a growing need to reconnect to the sacred elements of life. This is a means of finding a powerful visible representation of the spiritual energy that surrounds and sustains us. It serves as a kind of reminder of our connection to the spiritual realms especially our ancestors. Creating and using sacred practices can be an effective means of making a connection to higher powers. A prayer or ritual or sacred healing meditation can be a gateway between the seen and unseen realms that can connect us to the rhythms of nature and the universe. This can help infuse the most ordinary aspects of life with a divine sense of meaning.

This evening Natalia will be talking about connecting and responding to nature and the cycles of the earth. How we can be more conscious and aware of our responsibility to the earth and how we can learn to heal past inherited pain and trauma from our family and family history. Natalia will also talk about how to bring into your life daily sacred practices such as prayer and meditation.
