Winter Solstice has been celebrated in cultures the world over for thousands of years. This start of the solar year is a celebration of light and the rebirth of the sun. The Winter Solstice is the time of longest darkness and shortest light north of the Equator. It is the traditional time to celebrate the truly important things in life: your family, your children, your home and looking forward to a wonderful year to come.
Yule is a time throughout time that honours love and new birth, as well as the collective unity of humanity. Just as Christmas celebrates the birth of Christ, Yule celebrates the birth of the sun god - child of the goddess in the Pagan belief system. Yule is primarily the celebration of the rebirth of the sun.
With the stunningly talented Alternatives team and guests. Tonight we will have a magical invocation to the directions, a releasing ritual so you can let go of the limiting energies of 2011 and welcome in 2012. This evening we have some amazing guests including the drummers of Drum Jam and the singing of Nikki Slade and other surprise performances.
